Awww....don't you look cute as a baby? WOW..look at Grandma hula hooping! That's Uncle Bill when I was growing up....I miss him.....
Memories...capture our hearts and our lives..and are wonderful to share. So don't let the old reels of film sit in a box in the attic (oh no! way too hot!) or downstairs (oh no! way too damp!) or on your shelf in your bedroom closet (oh no! never seen!)...have them transferred. We know you've meant to all these years...and we're here to answer the questions that you have.
Can someone transfer these old movies to DVD or VHS?
Yep, we can. We do all formats. Regular 8, Super 8 and 16mm.
Why choose your company?
Well...we may not be the biggest company out there transferring film, but we offer a combination that can't be beat, great technology (Elmo Digital Film Converters and Mac Digital Editing) and outstanding personal customer service. We take the time to view your film and make the adjustments necessary to give you the best transfer possible. We know your film is important to you, so it's important to us. The film never leaves our hands. Any questions or concerns are happily addressed and your complete satisfaction is guaranteed.
Will transferring ruin the film?
No...it won't. Actually the film is deteriorating a little every day on it's own. Transferring the film to a digital format (DVD) will preserve your memories and causes no harm to your original film. Your film is returned to you along with your new DVD/VHS.
How much does it cost?
The smaller 50 foot reels (about 3 inches in diameter) cost $.14 cents a foot, which is $7 a reel. Larger reels cost $.12 a foot. If the reel is full that is approximately 400 feet and would cost $48.00 to transfer.
Are there additional costs?
There can be...but the good news is it usually isn't much. Unfortunately we cannot determine if you will incur any of these charges till we actually transfer the film. Leader (the white film at the beginning of a reel) has to be present so that we can grab that first frame of film, if it's not or way too short, we have to re-leader it which is a $2 per reel charge. If the film is broken or if some old splices have deteriorated, we charge $1 per splice. And last but not least, we do charge a rewind fee of $2 per reel if the film is backwards (yep, it does happen!). If none of these are necessary, then there are no additional costs other than any options you might choose
What is included in that price?
Your transfer includes easy listening music (unless your Super 8 or 16mm film has sound already) and one title (selected by you, such as THE SMITH FAMILY MEMORIES) that will appear at the beginning of the DVD/VHS when you play it. We also include a hard storage case for your DVD/VHS.
Options? What options do you offer?
Extra titles, Custom music and Chaptering. Feel free to contact us for a price on any of these options.
How many reels can I fit on a DVD or VHS?
For the best image, we recommend that you put no more than 2 hours on a DVD or VHS. That translates into no more than 2000 feet of film per DVD or VHS.
Can I get copies made?
Sure you can. Price varies based on the # of copies you need. Actually right now we're offering one free additional DVD copy with your transfer. We can also ship any copies wherever you'd like them to go.
